HELLO, I AM
BRENDA XIA.
I am a UX designer, creative leader, generative artist, design thinker, and world traveler. I love designing enjoyable and engaging product experiences for humans. People often describe me as cultured, independent, imaginative, passionate, and compassionate.
Being born and raised in China, and having moved to Toronto, Canada when I was 16. Having traveled to 15 countries and 100+ cities around the world. Those experiences made me see the world from a different perspective. I observe places and human behaviors with curiosity. I love exploring culture and exploring new things. This helped me to think outside of the box when it comes to design thinking, and in everyday life really.
From the age of six, I knew I wanted to do arts and design. Although I wasn’t able to learn design when I was in college, I chose to do it now. And it’s never too late. I have previously earned a business school degree with majors in hospitality and tourism management and marketing, and have worked extensively in the service, tourism, and events industry. My experience gave me those soft skills needed: empathy, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. I am confident to transfer these skills in my present and future work. I strive to serve the best for our users.
I specialize in crafting stories for user experiences and designing user interfaces and digital products. I don’t restrict myself to design. The blend of design, user experience, marketing, branding, and business is where I feel I excel. I believe in not only executing a well-designed product but also translate into business value for you. I appreciate you stopping by and valuing my work. It means a lot, truly.
